Throughout the history of grassroots creative computing, women and minorities have tended to be underrepresented in many creative computing communities. Furthermore, when women and creators from minority groups did actively participate in those communities, their contributions have often remained overlooked in existing historical and academic accounts.
The goal of these open educational materials is to highlight the contribution of women, minorities and other overlooked groups in creative computing cultures. This is done through a series of case studies, submitted by Action members, which introduce several pioneering creators who have made influential contributions across various creative computing domains.
