In an age marked by constant surveillance and platform monopolies, digital literacy, secure communication, and knowledge sharing are not optional. They are essential.
This workshop invites participants to explore practical tools for protecting privacy and securing communication in everyday academic settings. It also turns attention to the hidden infrastructures that provide access to knowledge under conditions of restriction and control, often referred to as shadow libraries. We will discuss how these alternative systems relate to broader issues such as privacy, access, solidarity, and the politics of information. The session includes practical guidance on how to access and participate in such networks.
The workshop is open to all curious minds, including researchers, students, activists, and digital citizens. It offers a hands-on and critical introduction to the tools and principles that support both digital self-protection and radical knowledge sharing.
